Right now, the only way you can really compete with your fellow CEOs is by using the aircraft type, seat type, and price.
And if your route image is at 100, there’s basically nothing else you can do to improve it.
Why not expand these options to include, for example, seat settings? Even though you can fully recline your seat in Business Class, you could still add extras like a TV screen, lighting, view, etc.
And while we’re at it, why not make catering a separate offering as well?
Because catering will differ between First and Economy, for example, in terms of drinks, food quality, and the tableware used.
The offerings on different flights will also vary; for example, you wouldn’t serve a hot meal on a one-hour flight, but you could hand out snacks, ranging from a plain cookie to a sandwich, whether included in the ticket price or available for purchase onboard.
All of this, of course, comes at a certain (adjustable) cost, which means you’ll need to generate a bit more revenue to stay ahead of the competition.
